Nautilus Elementary is perhaps one of the most talked about projects in the Linux world last year. Later in the year 2010 though, Nautilus Elementary project was discontinued and the developers decided to concentrate on an entirely new file browser project called Marlin, which will eventually find its place in upcoming Elementary OS project. But hold on, they have now decided to restart the Nautilus Elementary project and PPA's have been updated already for both Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick and Ubuntu 11.04 Natty.

Minitube is a flash free YouTube desktop application for Linux and Mac OSX. Minitube is perhaps one of the cleanest looking YouTube desktop client I have ever used in Ubuntu. And the fact that Minitube does not use the Flash player to play videos makes it a really low consumer of your CPU resources.

Ubuntu Software Center is getting updates almost everyday. The latest one brings in more paid applications into Ubuntu Software Center. And it's good to see Canonical slowly waking up to one of its most important revenue making opportunity.

The final release of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat is here with a ton of improvements. I think, it's time to stop talking about the great strides Ubuntu 10.10 has made on the usability fronts and lets just concentrate on the things you need to do and you could do with the new Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.

In yet another attempt at making it big with Ubuntu Software Center, Canonical announces new Ubuntu application review process. Canonical claims that the new process will make it easier and more accessible for application authors to get their apps in Ubuntu.

While Ubuntu 10.10 installer revamp has caught everyone's attention, Edubuntu on the other hand, is also having a complete installer overhaul. And it looks pretty neat too.


Finally, Canonical introduced the new default wallpaper for Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat". After a lot of controversies with regard to the selection of default wallpaper recently, Canonical have done pretty good job with the latest default wallpaper.
