Nuvola Player Might Just be the Perfect Replacement for Banshee in Ubuntu

Nuvola Player is so unlike any of the music players for Linux we have featured here so far. What Nuvola Player does is, it runs web interface of cloud music service in its own window and provides deep integration with the Linux desktop (system tray, Ubuntu sound menu, dock menu and notifications). Nuvola Player's currently supported services include Google Music, Grooveshark, Hype Machine and 8tracks.

Why Nuvola?
When I said Nuvola is the perfect replacement for Banshee in Ubuntu, I didn't mean that Nuvola beats Banshee in terms of features it offer, far from it. But if you are someone who stream music from one of the many popular cloud based music services like Google Music or Grooveshark (which a lot of people these days do), then Nuvola Player is all you need.

That is what Nuvola Player's basic interface looks like in Ubuntu 11.10. Nuvola Player is lightweight and integrates really well with your Unity based Ubuntu desktop. Nuvola has Unity quicklists support and it neatly jells with Ubuntu sound indicator menu.
