Blender Foundation's Sintel Open Movie Will Have Its Official Premiere in Another 14 Days

Sintel is an independently produced short film, initiated by the Blender Foundation as a means to further improve and validate the free/open source 3D creation suite Blender. Between, if you haven't heard about it yet, you probably haven't heard about 2 previous open source movie projects by Blender namely Elephants Dream and Big Buck Bunny which we have featured here. About Project Durian
Blender is the most powerful open source 3D graphics application out there and what better way to showcase its potential than to make short films exclusively using Blender. Durian is the project behind upcoming Sintel open movie. The open movie project that started almost an year ago is all set to premiere at Netherlands Film Festival in another 14 days! Official premiere Sintel: Monday 27 september, 19:30h, in Rembrandt theatre, Utrecht, Netherlands.

This 15 minute film has been realized in the studio of the Amsterdam Blender Institute, by an international team of artists and developers. Also, several crucial technical and creative targets have been realized online, by developers and artists and teams all over the world.

Sintel will be featured on 3D World's October issue. 3D World is widely covering Blender topics and will showcase Sintel on its cover. There will also be an interview session with Ton (Producer), Colin (Director), and William (Animator).
