Be it desktop clients like Gwibber or web based plugins like Chromed Bird, there is no dearth for good twitter clients in Ubuntu. Pino is Twitter and Identi.ca client for Linux desktop you might want to give a try at. It has an even simpler interface when compared to gwibber and looks promising overall.
Howto Install Latest Version of Pino in Ubuntu Lucid, Karmic
- Simply copy-paste the following command into Terminal(Applications - Accessories - Terminal)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vala-team/ppa sudo add-apt-repository ppa:troorl/pino sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install pino
