Much Awaited And Fully Loaded Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" Released!

Finally! Ubuntu 10.04 LTS codenamed "Lucid Lynx" is released. This is by far the most important release as far as Ubuntu is concerned since its inception. Plethora of changes and improvements, even includes a major branding make over.

"Brand" New Ubuntu

• Brand new Ubuntu, quite literally. Ubuntu have undergone a major branding makeover. It is reflected in every aspect of Ubuntu now. New color schemes, new logos, new themes, what else?

Ubuntu One Music Store, probably a first in Linux!

• Yes, Ubuntu now has a music store of it's own. It comes as a plugin with default Rythmbox Music Player in Ubuntu 10.04.

Even Faster Boot Time

• Not sure if Ubuntu 10.04 has won the 10 second boot time race. But it is nevertheless going to be faster than the previous release. AWESOME!

"Socially" Relevant

• As we had observed previously, world has become more twitterish and facebookish than ever before, so is Ubuntu 10.04. Me Menu and microblogging client Gwibber can go a long way in ensuring the sociability factor of Ubuntu.
